With the Artist - Brianna Correa
Earlier this month we introduced you to Brianna Correa, an artist with roots in Whittier extending her branches throughout Los Angeles. What might seem like a couple of weeks since you last heard of Brianna have actually been a year since ñ first sat down with her to discuss her art. A lot has happened since and we wanted to have a go one more time to fill in an unprecedented gap in the timeline. The result is this audio interview presented through our podcast series “With the Artist”.
We visited Brianna in her studio at her home in Whittier, CA, to hear how her practice has had to adapt. Not letting the setbacks of the COVID-19 pandemic set her back too far, we get a closer glance at her outlook and future plans.
ñ would like to send out a special mention on behalf of Brianna to her mentors - Greg Mocilnikar and Devon Tsuno from CSUDH’s Art & Design department, and Mario Ybarra Jr. from Slanguage Studio in Wilmington, CA. Also, a big “thank you” to her fellow artists from the DH Arts Collective and the Ceramics Guild for their hard work and collaborative efforts. Visit Brianna on instagram @beecorrestudio to follow her work.
